Figure AI is one of the most closely watched startups in robotics. Founded by Brett Adcock (previously of Archer Aviation), the company’s mission is straightforward: build a “universal worker” that can perform nearly any physical task safely and autonomously.
The Figure 02 prototype stunned the industry in early 2025 with its fluid movements, natural walking gait, and integration with OpenAI’s multimodal reasoning systems — allowing it to follow verbal instructions and adapt on the fly.
